2 April, 2021 – The Wincott Foundation received a record 156 entries for this year’s awards and, following the completion of judging, can now reveal the shortlisted entrants in all seven categories. The winners will be announced at an online Zoom event on May 20.
Lionel Barber, chairman, said: “The record number of entries was matched by the very high quality of most.
“Submissions ranged from pioneering investigative work in consumer protection, financial markets and the environment to an extremely impressive range of entries in our new category of data journalism, in addition to audio and visual work.”
Covid-19 and the government’s lockdown has unfortunately made it impossible to hold the annual awards lunch at the Mansion House in May to announce the winners. Shortlisted candidates and their senior manager will, however, be invited to an online event where the winners will be unveiled.
